Almost ten thousand more Hoosiers signed up for the Affordable Care Act health coverage this year compared to last, according to Medicaid and Medicare Services, with a nationwide increase of approximately 200,000 enrollees.  Covering Kids & Families Manager Amanda Chappell said the often-touted tax penalty is not the reason so many have sought the subsidized coverage. “They need that peace of mind to know that if they have an emergency,” Ms. Chappell said, “they’ve got coverage.”
