The Thomas Hart Benton mural decorating Woodburn 100 depicts the history of Indiana. Whether Hoosiers like it or not, a part of that history was the rise and fall of the KKK, according to the daughter of the painter, Jessie Benton.

Controversy around the mural began over 70 years ago, but Indiana University recently decided the hall containing the mural would no longer have lectures.  Jessie Benton said her father painted what was happening in the world, down to the last detail.  Even the ugliest ones.
