Department of Child Services Director Mary Beth Bonaventura informed Governor Holcomb that she is leaving her position on Dec. 27.  No reason was given for the director’s departure.  Bonaventura spent five years as DCS director, originally appointed to the position by former-Governor Pence in 2013.

Gov. Holcomb’s sent the following statement: “I am grateful to Director Bonaventura for her service at the Department of Child Services over the past five years. She has demonstrated unwavering commitment to keeping Hoosier children safe and has led this important state agency in the midst of a growing opioid epidemic that has impacted so many families.”
