Only hours after the tragic mass shooting (4 dead, 2 wounded) in central Indiana’s Greenwood Park Mall, another shooting occurred at a vigil in Beech Grove’s Don Challis Park, only 17 minutes away from the Greenwood mall. One person is dead and three are wounded.

These incidents come only 17 days after the state ended the requirement for concealed-carry licenses.

Mayor Dennis Buckley gave reporters this statement: “To elected officials, it’s far past time to stabilize or eliminate this problem that we have. It played out again twice tonight. Once in Greenwood and once here in Beech Grove and the good people that live in this area should not have to tolerate this. This people were not from here and I’m not happy about it.
